The 34th Jornada Pedagógica will take place on February 6, 2027. More details and registration information will soon be available.

The Jornada conference is designed for bilingual educators in bilingual or dual-language immersion programs, bilingual teacher education faculty, professional developers, and Spanish speakers and families who want to promote the use of Spanish in their homes and communities.

Keynote sessions and workshops focused on:

  • Interdisciplinary Instruction in Dual Language Classrooms
  • Family and Community Engagement
  • Spanish Literacy Development

33rd Jornada Pedagógica, hosted on February 7, 2026!

This year’s conference was a tremendous success. Centered on the theme Lengua, Poder y Práctica, our two keynote speakers explored issues of equity, Spanish-language literacy instruction, the role of high-quality Spanish materials, and the history and ongoing impact of linguistic intolerance.

We welcomed 177 attendees, who had the opportunity to choose from 11 workshops focused on:

  • Interdisciplinary Instruction in Dual Language Classrooms
  • Family and Community Engagement
  • Spanish Literacy Development

Alma Flor Ada Award

We are pleased to have honored Leslie Hiatt as the proud recipient of the 8th Annual Alma Flor Ada Award for Social Justice. We offer her our congratulations and encouragement to continue her fantastic work supporting English Learners.
