The LMU School of Education earned full seven-year national accreditation in November 2019 from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Upon review by the CAEP Accreditation Council, LMU SOE successfully met all five of the CAEP Teacher Preparation Standards – rigorous, nationally recognized standards that were developed to ensure excellence in educator preparation programs.


The LMU School of Education is proudly accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. All credential programs offered within the School of Education at Loyola Marymount University are CTC approved Professional Preparation Programs. LMU School of Education received full seven-year accreditation in May 2019.

*All LMU School of Education credential programs meet the California state requirements as specified by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). The institution has not made a determination as to whether the credential program meets the requirement of states outside of California.


The LMU School of Education School Psychology Program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). This prestigious designation was renewed in spring 2018 and covers the School Psychology MA and PPS Credential.


LMU is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), one of six regional associations that accredit public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the United States. The Senior College Commission of WASC accredits senior colleges and universities.
