Loyola Marymount University is regionally accredited, and the School of Education holds professional accreditation from the following organizations:
California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- All licensure programs offered at the LMU School of Education at Loyola Marymount University are accredited by the CTC. The most recent renewal for a full seven-year accreditation was in May 2019.
- All LMU School of Education licensure programs meet the California state requirements as specified by the CTC. The institution has not made a determination as to whether these programs meet the requirement of states outside of California.
National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)
The LMU School of Education's school psychology program is nationally approved by NASP. This prestigious designation was renewed in spring 2018 and covers the M.A. in Educational Psychology and the California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Psychology.
WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)
LMU is fully accredited by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), the division of WASC that accredits senior colleges and universities. WSCUC accredits and supports institutions within their historic region, across the country, and around the world that share and advance WSCUC's equity, evidence-based, and innovation priorities.
Membership: Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP)
AAQEP is a membership association and quality assurance agency that provides services and formative support to all types of educator preparation providers. The School of Education will be engaging with AAQEP to explore full accreditation.
