Child Welfare & Attendance Added Authorization to the PPS Credential

The Child Welfare and Attendance (CWA) Added Authorization authorizes LMU PPS Credential holders to work directly with pupils to improve Average Daily Attendance (ADA). These professionals focus specifically on truancy remediation and prevention in order to improve attendance culture and increase attendance and well-being for at-risk pupils.

Eligible candidates for this program are current LMU candidates enrolled in the School Counseling PPS Credential and alumni who obtained their P.P.S. credential in School Counseling or School Psychology from LMU within the past 5 years.

The LMU CWA Program is approved by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), and is a 3-course, 9-unit program that may be completed by current candidates in one academic semester or over the course of two consecutive academic semesters. Candidates must be enrolled in their fieldwork placement concurrently while completing the CWAA.
