Child Welfare & Attendance Added Authorization to the PPS Credential

The Child Welfare Attendance (CWA) Add-On authorization is recognized and was approved in 2018 by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), as a program option for P.P.S. credential-held practitioners in School Counseling, School Psychology, or School Social Work. Practitioners who hold a valid P.P.S. Credential with an Option in School Counseling/School Psychology/School Social Work and CWA provide child welfare attendance and related services in addition to their main role or function within a school district.

This program is designed for current LMU PPS credential candidates to complete over the course of two semesters as they complete their PPS fieldwork experience.

LMU is now offering a 'stand-alone' Optional Child Welfare and Attendance (CWA) Authorization program for community members!

This program is also designed as a one-semester program for community members, i.e., current School Counselors/PPS credential holders employed in LAUSD and other California school districts in order to add the CWA authorization to their current PPS credential.

The LMU CWA Authorization program is offered in a hybrid (combination of in-person and online) format on Saturdays. Our campus is conveniently located in Westchester, near LAX and Playa Vista.
