Mathematics, Multilingual/English Learners and Formative Assessment Institute

Through an integrated lens of equity and mathematical practices, participants will explore formative assessment processes that support both mathematical proficiency and language growth, ensuring all students thrive.
Participants will engage in (3) live webcast sessions alternating with three (3) flexible independent asynchronous work time as they explore the CA Mathematics Framework and apply Multilingual/English Learner focused formative assessment processes aligned with the CA ELD Standards.

The Center for Equity for English Learners is offering a virtual, 6-Session Mathematics, Multilingual/English Learners and Formative Assessment Institute in the Fall, 2025. This Institute is open to teachers, coaches, and administrators of Multilingual/English Learners in PreK-12th grade and focuses on key principles, instructional consideration, and action planning for mathematics and formative assessment practices centered around Multilingual/English Learners.
