Jason Rose has 23 years of experience in public education and started his teaching career in Palmdale as a middle school math teacher. He has since held teaching positions in Pasadena, San Dimas, and Temple City. With the exception of a couple of years teaching high school, he has spent the majority of his teaching career in middle school. For the last five years, he has served the community of Temple City as the principal of La Rosa School. In this role, he has been able to see the strong impact a leader can have on a school site, not only for the students but for the parents and staff as well. This leadership position has allowed him to notice the injustices, subtle and overt, which occur on a daily basis. As a result, he strives each and every day to make a difference for the marginalized and to give a voice to those in need. His area of research centers around self-harm in primary-aged students and trauma-informed pedagogy.
