Sydney Minckler has been in public education for the past two decades. Her journey in education began as a 6th grade teacher for Pasadena Unified School District. Since then she has taught all subjects in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Additionally, she has held the position of curriculum resource teacher, language development resource teacher, and assistant principal. Currently she is teaching 8th grade math and science, is responsible for her school’s response to intervention behavioral programs, and is lead teacher for professional development. Ms. Minckler earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her Master of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute for the Arts. She holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CalTEACH, Los Angeles, plus Single Subject Credentials in introductory sciences and theatre arts. Additionally, she holds a Clear Administrative Credential from Cal Poly Pomona. Sydney’s research interests include social media and female student academic achievement.
