A former journalist and magazine editor, Deborah Glenn joined LMU in April 2019 to support the School of Film and Television. There she overhauled its editorial and content strategy; revamped its website, news, and social media channels; worked across departments to launch the school’s first always-on digital marketing campaign; and led the publicity effort in 2020 that raised SFTV’s national ranking to its highest in its 20-year history. She joined LMU School of Education in October 2020.
Glenn’s prior employers include Time Inc., McGraw-Hill, Columbia University, and others. She is a former senior editor, producer, and media spokesperson for “This Old House,” the original home improvement TV show, where she produced stories and videos for broadcast, web, print, and social media and made regular live appearances on “The Today Show” and other TV programs.
Her essays and writing have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, Dwell, Serious Eats, and other publications.
A native of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Glenn earned a B.S. in civil and environmental engineering from Cornell University and is a first-generation college graduate. She has lived in Los Angeles since 2013.
