SIMPACT
LMU’s School of Education is an early adopter in the use of MRS (Mixed Reality Simulation), a technology that enables students to rehearse their career-specific soft skills by immersing them in virtual environments featuring life-like avatars of students, principals, parents, teachers or other vital stakeholder. Our program, led by MRS innovator Dr. Ireland, is the only program in the country with a fully integrated cross-department scope and sequence of simulations.
Through simulated lessons, classroom experiences, leadership scenarios, and counseling what-ifs, future educators, psychologists, and leaders, can hone their expertise and receive real-time feedback designed to strengthen their practice as well as deepen their self-reflection. This immersive experience has expanded significantly, going beyond teacher preparation, educational leadership, and school psychology programs to be included in the LMU Law School, and the College of Business Administration.
