Overview

An iDEAL Program Coordinator Leading a workshop with teachers and their laptops.

The iDEAL Institute introduces innovative education through its Academy of Blended Learning (ABL) program. A multi-year, multi-part professional development certification, ABL delves into blended learning pedagogies and enhances teachers' fluency with educational technology. Going beyond transitioning to technology-rich blended learning, the ABL curriculum addresses common issues in K-12+ education technology implementation. Emphasizing the need for technology to drive changes in instruction, ABL focuses on improving teachers' instructional practice while authentically incorporating technology rather than just device and software fluency.

Recognizing the challenges of integrating new technology into the curriculum and insufficient teacher training, the ABL program prioritizes comprehensive pedagogical practices and integrated supports. These supports include collaboration opportunities, learning sessions, and fluency development with blended learning, devices, educational software programs, and instructional technologies. Additionally, the program offers instructional coaching, progress monitoring, and leadership support to ensure effective implementation.

What Professional Learning Workshops do we provide?

The professional learning scope of the Academy of Blended Learning program is designed to support teachers in the effective adoption of blended learning and technology integration pedagogy. This 30-workshop program is built on the foundation of quality research-based instruction and is tailored to educators' unique needs. It is generally completed across three years.

It is designed to provide teachers with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to integrate technology and online resources into their instruction effectively and to design and deliver high-quality blended learning experiences for their students. The program will also provide opportunities for teachers to collaborate with their peers and to gain hands-on experience with  research-based pedagogical approaches and the latest technologies. Whether teachers are new to blended learning or experienced educators are looking to take their practice to the next level, this program will provide teachers with the tools and resources that they need to succeed.
