Transform Professional Training with Simulation-Led Learning

LMU’s Mixed Reality Simulation (MRS) program, led by the iDEAL institute’s Dr. Ashley Ireland, is a national leader in immersive, simulation-based learning designed to prepare professionals for real-world challenges. As the only program in the country with a fully integrated, cross-department scope and sequence of simulations, LMU has pioneered this cutting-edge approach to soft skills training.

In LMU’s School of Education, MRS enables future educators, school psychologists, and leaders to rehearse critical skills—from classroom management and leadership scenarios to counseling "what-ifs"—in realistic virtual environments featuring lifelike avatars representing students, parents, principals, and other key stakeholders. These simulations offer real-time feedback to strengthen practice, build confidence, and deepen self-reflection.

This transformative approach has expanded across LMU, with simulations integrated into the LMU Law School and College of Business Administration (CBA), where aspiring lawyers, marketers, and business professionals have practiced essential communication and soft skills needed for success in their careers. Additionally, partnerships with various universities reflect the program’s growing impact nationwide. Our simulation program currently partners with  California State University, Northridge, and the University of West Alabama (UWA) as well as research partnerships with University of California, Los Angeles.

If you are looking to revolutionize teacher preparation in your school of education or seeking a research-proven, high-impact tool to help professionals in fields like education, business, and law hone their soft skills, leadership, and communication, simulation-based learning is the solution.
