Lida Jennings joined Teach For America (TFA) in 2010 and is now in her tenth year as Executive Director of the Metro Los Angeles region. Radically shifting LA corps and staff team diversity, ensuring long-term financial sustainability, and re-establishing a strong partnership with LA Unified are just a few hallmarks of her tenure to date. Before joining TFA, Lida held senior leadership roles at the RAND Corporation, the Marshall MBA Program at USC, and both The Gap and Macy’s in San Francisco. She has a BA in psychology from Smith College, an MBA from the USC Marshall School, and a Doctorate in Education from UCLA. Lida is also an alumna of the Executive Leadership for Multicultural Women fellowship at USC and currently serves as a board member at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, ExED, STEM To The Future, the LMU School of Education Board of Visitors, and as board chair for Da Vinci RISE High School. While Lida was born in Houston she has lived in California for most of her life and calls Los Angeles home. She currently resides in Hawthorne with plenty of plants and pets, and way too close to Randy’s Donuts.
