Elevating Integrated English Language Development (iELD) in Mathematics for Multilingual/English Learner Students

The Center for Equity for English Learners and Californians Together hosted an afternoon of learning. Elevating Integrated English Language Development (iELD) in Mathematics for Multilingual/English Learner Students. This webinar elevated the importance of Integrated English Language Development (iELD) within mathematics instruction to highlight the urgent need to address the academic gaps experienced by Multilingual/English learners in California (ML/EL). Based on guidance from the new Mathematics Framework, this webinar addressed the need for equity and access for diverse students by uplifting the vital integration of iELd in Mathematics instruction. Expert educators and administrators across multiple educational systems offered insights and experiences in addressing iELD and Mathematics. Inspired by real-world examples from expert educators and administrators, participants will leave with a renewed perspective on the urgent need to transform mathematics educational practices in diverse contexts for ML/EL students.
