Dorothy Balfe

Dorothy Balfe is the assistant principal at St. Paul the Apostle School.

Dorothy chose LMU's Ed.D. Program because of the explicit focus on social justice and because she believed that the program would offer her deeper insights and greater skills to better serve her community.

Dorothy’s research focused on the implementation of social-emotional learning (SEL) in a Catholic school.

Dorothy believes that research is crucial to furthering best practices in education and credits LMU’s Ed.D. Program for allowing her to explore a problem of practice from a theoretical and a practical point of view to bridge the research-to-practice gap.
