Benjamin Wardrop

Benjamin Wardrop is the principal of Centinela Valley Union High School District, where he oversees all the alternative education programs in the district, including: continuation school, independent study school, adult transition school, and adult school.

Benjamin enrolled in LMU’s Ed.D. Program because he was excited to return to the classroom and learn from other practitioners, while also improving his use and implementation of research-based practices. As a result, he is much more aware of historical inequities and current practices that affect student learning and success. He also feels more comfortable and willing to address and advocate for change to slowly turn the tide in these inequitable areas.

Benjamin’s dissertation research focused on the development of a professional profile of qualities and practices for principals of continuation schools.
