Candidates in the program are employed at PK-12 schools and seek to develop knowledge and skills supporting students with disabilities in general education classrooms. Certificate program candidates complete a year of graduate-level coursework (15 semester units) that includes an activity-based practicum at their current school site. Certificate program classes can be applied to other M.A. degree programs within the LMU School of Education. (Academic advisors can provide specifics.)
Fall Semester: 4 semester units
- EDES 6441 Universally Designed Curriculum, Instruction, and Assistive Tech (1 unit)
- EDUR 6606 Developing Collaborative Partnerships for Inclusive Schooling (3 units)
Spring Semester: 6 semester units
- EDES 6442 Socio-Emotional Learning and Positive Behavior Support (3 units)
- EDES 6443 Assessment and Instruction for Students with Varying Abilities (3 units)
Summer Session I: 5 semester units
- EDES 6444 Practicum in Inclusive Education (2 units)
- EDLA 6430 Mission-Focused Spiritual Leadership in Catholic Education (3 units)
Please note that successful students maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B or higher in all courses) to remain in the program and in good academic standing.
