Successful candidates for admission to our program have majored or minored in psychology, child development, education, or closely related fields as undergraduate or graduate students. Alternatively, other successful candidates have completed 18 semester units of undergraduate coursework in psychology, including the following course titles and topics:

  • Introductory Psychology
  • Cognition/Learning Theories
  • Human Development/Developmental Psychology
  • Physiological/Neurological Psychology
  • Statistics or Experimental Psychology
  • Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, or Personality Theory

Please note the following:

  • Prerequisite coursework must be equivalent to 18 semester units (6 classes at 3 units each) and/or appropriate quarter conversion units
  • All prerequisite coursework must be completed at an accredited college or university
  • The prerequisite coursework can be in progress when you apply to the program, but must be fully completed prior to enrollment, which starts each year during LMU’s Summer Session II
