Applications are submitted electronically.
In the electronic application system, you will be asked for the following:
- Official transcripts (one set) from all colleges and universities you have attended, including if your degree is in progress.
- Professional resume. You will be asked to upload your current resume or curriculum vita.
- Three letters of recommendation
- You will be asked to provide the name, title, organization, and email address of 3 professionals who will provide a recommendation for you. Each professional will be emailed a private link to upload their recommendation directly. Ideally, at least one of your recommenders is a school psychologist or a professional who is very familiar with school psychology practice and specifically can speak to your qualifications for this job.
- Personal Statement of Intent (2-4 pages, double-spaced) that addresses:
- Why you want to be a school psychologist and what draws you to this profession.
- What you have learned from your volunteer/work experience with school-aged children, including those from diverse backgrounds and those with exceptional needs.
- Aspects of your own background and lived experience that will contribute to the strengths of a diverse cohort learning community.
- What makes the LMU School Psychology Program a good fit for you
Please note that the priority deadline for school psychology applications is the first Friday of February.
Group interviews are held in early March. Admission decisions are made in late March and classes begin the last week of June/first week of July. There are also a few program requirements to be completed after admission.
At the completion of the program, candidates take the Praxis II-School Psychology Exam. A passing score on the Praxis II is necessary to become a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.
