Educational Studies
Graduate Program:
LMU's innovative M.A. in Educational Studies program offers you the opportunity to design a tailored, personalized M.A. curriculum that reflects your personal and professional goals. In this program, you take 30 units of coursework: 4 core courses (12 units), and 6 elective courses (18 units) selected in consultation with your academic advisor. This program offers you maximum flexibility in designing your study plan, including, for eligible educators, completing Bilingual Authorization for a California base teaching credential you already hold. This program is not a teaching credential program and is intended solely as a flexible master's degree for candidates that wish to gain more theory and experience in the field of education.
Undergraduate Program 4+1:
Under the umbrella of the Center for Undergraduate Teacher Preparation, LMU's innovative 4 year degree/teaching credential plus 1 year M.A. degree, offers a convenient and cost effective way for candidates to earn two degrees and a California teaching credential (B.A. + credential + M.A.) in five years. Candidates in the 4+1 program are required to complete teaching credential requirements and are advised by both the School of Education and their undergraduate degree advisor.
