Overview
For students earning an M.A./PPS/CWA in School Counseling, LMU School of Education partners with three educational partners that provide paid residencies for select students during the final year of the program. The residencies include:
- One year of high-quality preparation at a partner organization
- A stipend for the above year
- Weekly 1:1 coaching sessions with a mentor school counselor
- Priority consideration for full-time employment after you graduate

How Do I Apply?
There are two pathways for applying to our school counselor residency programs.
Option 1: You are currently employed by one of our partners
- Tell your employer you’re interested in applying for the counselor residency program at LMU
- Your employer will interview you and notify you if you’ve been recommended to apply
Option 2: You are not currently employed by one of our partners
- Apply directly to LMU’s school counseling program
- If you are admitted, let your advisor know that you’re interested in the counselor residency program
- Your advisor will follow up with you about availability and next steps
