The Teacher Leadership in Mathematics Program partners with educational organizations to implement a Teacher Leadership model that focuses on transforming math & science education. In this program, the expert faculty work to train, support, and grow a team of knowledgeable scholar practitioners (teachers) who collaborate and take action to lead the transition to CCSS within their schools and districts.
Teachers who participate in The Program enroll in two certificate courses taken over the span of two years, offered by the LMU Extension Office. Using the Mathematics by Design (MLD) system, these courses focus on improving classroom practice and building leadership using an apprenticeship, experiential, and job embedded professional development model.
