With the support of the Sobrato Family Foundation, CEEL convened a statewide Bilingual Teacher Preparation Work Group with representatives from University of California, California State University and private colleges and universities to support the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing’s (CTC) plan to update the CTC Bilingual Authorization Standards. This Content Analysis White Paper is intended to be a resource to the Bilingual Authorization Work Group/Expert Panel in the Standards “Refresh” process that will begin in May 2020. It was developed in the spirit of collaboration and mutual support in our common purpose to prepare the most highly-qualified, bilingually-authorized teachers that our TK-12 students deserve.
