LMU's Special Education Program provides you with the theoretical knowledge and professional skills needed to teach students with mild to moderate support needs either within self-contained classrooms and/or in collaboration with general education teachers. Our program includes both the Education Specialist and the Elementary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, along with the M.A. in Special Education. Our program is committed to preparing you to work successfully with culturally and linguistically diverse students. You will be prepared to succeed as a classroom teacher, to excel as a site leader, and to advocate for students with learning needs. Many of our graduates teach and, or serve in leadership positions in both public and private school and non-profit settings.
