LMU's PLACE Corps -- Partners in Los Angeles Catholic Education -- featuring three pillars: Professional Development, Community, and Spirituality, began in September 2001 with a group of nationally recruited recent college graduates who committed to two years of teaching in under-resourced Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.  A new cohort of PLACE Corps educators commits each year to two years of serving as a teacher in a Catholic K-12 school across three Southern California (Arch)Dioceses, living in a faith-centered community, and studying for a combined master's degree and teaching credential through the LMU School of Education.  The program, modeled after the tenets of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) and the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) program at the University of Notre Dame, has enjoyed steady success.

The PLACE Program welcomes donations to assist current and future students with tuition scholarships, housing, and program events.  Feel free to contact PLACE Corps staff directly or use the convenient LMU Giving Form.  (Be careful to specify PLACE on the LMU Giving - select School of Education in the drop down menu and type "PLACE" in the "Give to area(s) of your choice" box to ensure your gift is directed to LMU PLACE Corps.)

Every gift helps create a legacy by making a difference in the lives of our candidates, alumni, and the thousands of students they serve.
