Born in Chicago, IL and raised in the suburbs, Cheryl Wawrzaszek was awarded her AA degree in Liberal Arts from College of DuPage and her BS degree in Home Economics, Child and Family from Illinois State University. Early in her career she taught in childcare centers and directed a suburban center for the YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago. After stepping down from this position, she began working in administrative roles. This led to an opportunity to work for Big Idea Productions (VeggieTales). It was there she met her husband and his career brought them to California. Prior to coming to LMU, she worked for Sony Pictures Animation.
In her current position, she assists the Department Chair, Dr. William Parham, the Faculty in both the Counseling and School Psychology programs, oversees the daily operations of the office and manages the student workers. She enjoys helping them and our candidates who bring such energy and passion to their respective programs.
