A native of Los Angeles, Danielle West was awarded a BA in Interpersonal Communication and Minor in African American Studies from California State University, Long Beach in 2005 and an MA in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in 2011. Prior to obtaining her MA, Danielle transitioned from the entertainment industry in 2007 to being hired as a Student Service Officer at a Vocational School, Charter College in 2009. In 2010 Danielle was promoted from Student Service Officer to Financial Aid Officer. During her time in Financial Aid she was responsible for auditing and maintaining all Financial Aid requirements for the campus. This included staying up to date on all regulations, policies and procedures as they related to recruitment, veterans benefits, student affairs, and academic programs. Danielle continued to grow as a Higher Ed Administrator at Charter College until the closing of the campus in 2014. As of August 2016, Danielle West has taken on the role of Academic Advisor for the Counseling, School Psychology, Administration, and Special Education programs.
The position responsibilities that Danielle holds in the highest regard is empowering students to understand their academic journey, communication to candidates related to course and program requirements and assistance in navigation of the University policies and processes. As advisor, she helps the candidate set and achieve academic goals, acquire relevant information and services, and make responsible decisions consistent with the candidate's interests, goals, abilities, and degree requirements.
