Certificate in Catholic School Administration

This unique and successful educational program, offered by LMU's Center for Catholic Education (CCE) through the Department of Educational Leadership and Administration (EDLA), provides professional development that is specific to the Catholic school administration context. The 11-month (4 course/10 graduate level units) program is designed to address four major themes in Catholic school administration: mission-focused leadership; faith and spiritual leadership; operational management; and instructional leadership. The integration of faith and professional practice is made relevant through pragmatic experiences that prepare students to grow as Catholic school leaders through project-based learning strategies. Students employ assessment and accountability practices that support and align Catholic school mission, vision, and student learning outcomes. The courses of the CCSA academic program serve as the first 10 units of the LMU Master of Arts in Catholic School Administration. LMU's Catholic School Leadership Academy, housed in the CCE and academically supported by the Department of Educational Leadership, offers both the certificate and masters in Catholic School Administration.

The CCSA offers two concurrent cohorts per year: the local cohort which meets in a hybrid manner (on campus as well as synchronous on-line class meetings) and the national cohort, sponsored by Catholic Extension, which meets on campus for "Invitation to Lead" and synchronous on-line for all of the three-unit courses.
