Building Bridges for Others
A college-career readiness program that focuses on resumes and employment skills, is conducted by LMU's Student Employment Services. SES works with more than 100 Westchester students each semester to create and update resumes and learn valuable information from potential employers.
This program focuses on developing and maintaining a college-going culture for 7th grade students at our partner middle school by matching them with college student-athletes. They work in small groups on discussing college-readiness themed topics and setting personal and academic goals.
College Application Night
FOS and LMU Admissions hosts an application night at the high schools to walk students through the College Common Application process. The site for this event is held at the high school in their computer lab.
Financial Literacy program that inspires and prepares elementary, middle and high school students to succeed in a global economy. JA seeks to empower students through financial literacy workforce readiness and entrepreneurship education.
Lion for a Day
Students at periods of academic transition (5th grade, 8th grade, and 11th grade) are brought to campus for an intensive half-day program that focuses on college readiness throughout the academic pipeline.
LMU Students with Choice Theory Training mentor students at Orville Wright Middle School. Mentoring Sessions involve role-plays and small group discussions on how individuals can respond to life's challenges and issues.
College Workshops for Seniors
FOS facilitates a full day of college readiness workshops including; essay writing, college admissions information, campus tours, Q and A with a panel of LMU students.
Serves as a college -preparedness program for students from Westchester High School. The goal of the four-year program is to increase the rate at which participants complete college. View their website.
