Governance Council

The LMU Family of Schools has worked with LAUSD’s iDesign office to transition each FOS school into a local governance and decision-making model with specific school wide accountability measures. FOS schools are based on new visions of local governance and greater community input, with support from external network partners.

iDesign and the LMU Family of Schools continue to support each of the partner schools in creating and maintaining individual school governance councils with balanced representation among stakeholders.

Accountability frameworks will be developed by governance councils to monitor, evaluate and improve student achievement, measure efficient organizational delivery of support services to school operations, and document promising practices.

To support the partner schools, LMU will continue to serve as a support and technical assistance resource as:

• Partner schools build governance structures that will support a strong and effective leadership body.
• Partner schools identify training & professional development needs so they are better prepared to implement processes and policies.
• Partner schools develop their school plans and vision.
