Professional Development (PD) Seminar
PD
Seminars support teachers in delving more deeply into their learning
and implementation of MAST strategies in their own classrooms to
achieve the goal of increasing student engagement and achievement.
PD
Seminars teach through dialogue the MAST program curriculum, occur
monthly (September-May), and focus on collaborative dialogues around
math/science content and samples that intentionally lead to MAST
strategies to use in their own classrooms in order to achieve the goal
of increasing student engagement and achievement. Each PD Seminar
includes interactive dialogues in which math/science content is
discussed through guided questions about student and teacher samples.
MAST strategies are modeled, discussed, and analyzed such as an
Activity Before Concept. PD Seminar outcomes focus on student learning
and integrating tenets of the MAST program into teaching practice.
