COMMUNICATE, COLLABORATE, AND EDUCATE

CMAST's goals are:

  • Creating a professional learning community comprised of faculty, teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community members dedicated to increasing student engagement and achievement in mathematics and science
  • Finding and sharing solutions that increase the number of students who pursue science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and science and mathematics teaching as careers

  • Building teacher retention by providing opportunities for shared leadership between transformational teacher leaders, administrators, and parents
  • Designing, strengthening, and sharing best practices in teaching and learning

Professional Learning Community

The CMAST professional learning community (PLC) is a collaborative trans-disciplinary community dedicated to increasing student engagement and achievement in mathematics and science.  The CMAST PLC fosters creativity through collaboration and a commitment to keeping a laser focus on finding solutions to challenges faced by mathematics and science students.  Solutions emerge through the strengthening and integration of academic content proficiency and instructional strategies that are grounded in and sharpened through literary and action research.
