A New York native, Matthias graduated from Boston College in 2003 and moved to Los Angeles to join the PLACE Corps’s third cohort. After teaching sixth grade and middle school social studies for several years, Matthias is thrilled to work for the PLACE Corps and to be a part of the program’s day-to-day operations and long-term planning. Believing strongly in every aspect of the program, Matthias is excited to see the impact PLACE Corps members -- past, present, and future -- will continue to have on Catholic education. |

As coordinator of the PLACE Corps, Betty feels privileged to be associated with such an amazing group of young people. She joined the staff following a stint as a Children’s Ministry Director. Through this experience and a myriad of other teaching assignments, ranging from working with two through ninety-nine year olds, she enjoys the opportunity to advise new teachers and being part of the retreat planning team.
