A unique doctoral program focusing on social justice and preparing leaders to have deep conviction, knowledge, and commitment to education reform in diverse communities. The EdD program is designed for the 21st century leader to be equipped with theories, experiences, and tools to transform educational settings into just, inclusive, and equitable learning environments.
LMU is the right place to explore this subject-and expand on it. Social justice lies at the core of the School's and the University's mission.
The emphasis on social justice, unique among educational doctorates, is central to the mission of LMU’s School of Education. As education is a powerful tool in understanding and responding to social inequities, it is important for educational leaders to understand and model social justice. Our program aims uncompromisingly at achieving greater equity in academic achievement for all students and fostering collaborative, caring communities of educators and parents.
The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Social Justice at Loyola Marymount University prepares leaders who have a deep understanding of the complex issues impacting education and student achievement and who are able to advance reform in diverse communities.
For more than 70 years, the School of Education has been preparing knowledgeable and responsible educators through excellence in teaching, research, and service. The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Social Justice is designed for the 21st century leader, who must be equipped with the theories, experiences, and tools to transform educational settings into inclusive and equitable learning environments.
